Swim: The swim will take place in Lincolnshire Lake. It will be a triangular course starting at the boat landing and swimming in a clockwise direction. The distance of the swim is 500 yards. There will be safety boats and lifeguards monitoring the swimmers.
Bike: The bike leg will be a 14 mile ride on rolling terrain. It goes out of the park west through North Tazewell on Riverside Drive towards Bishop, turns left onto Fairground Road towards Tazewell, turns onto Hwy. 16 into Tazewell, goes through the middle of town to the High School, turns left at the High School entrance, goes around the Elementary School, and returns to the park the way you came. The steepest hill is the one where you climb back up the dam to the transition area. Town Police and volunteers will be along the course directing traffic. There will be automobile traffic along the bike course.
Run: The run is a 5K trail run. It is two laps around the lake that you swim in. Most of the trail is a double track gravel service road. There are a couple of short single track sections and a long grassy section on top of the dam. The run will circle the lake in a clockwise direction with the finishing stretch being across the dam. The view from the top of the dam is pretty stunning. Be advised that this is a trail run that includes uneven gravel, dirt, and grass surfaces. The terrain is up and down but with no long up or down hill stretches. The longest flat stretch is the one across the dam. It is a pretty course and, best of all, there is no vehicular traffic.
